During your learning programme on the Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship, you will be completing a variety of assessments to test your knowledge, skills and behaviours. These tests will be used as evidence to show that you meet the standard requirement for the Digital Marketer standard. The on-programme exams that you will be completing with Velocity Academy are:
These exams will be completed with Velocity Academy and will all aim to be completed within 13 months of your apprenticeship programme. Your designated tutor provided by Velocity Academy will be on hand to ensure that you are ready to sit and pass these exams. Be sure that you attend all of the required teaching sessions and compliment these with the online learning which will be set on PluralSight. A combination of the classroom tuition, the online learning and the practicalities of your digital marketing role within your work will ensure that you will be more than prepared for these assessments.
Your Level 3 Digital Marketer apprenticeship programme is effectively split into two parts. These can be described as the On Programme Assessment (with Velocity Academy) and the End Point Assessment(with BCS The Chartered Institute for IT). Around 80% of your apprenticeship will be completed with Velocity Academy and the final 20% will be completed with BCS. The easiest way to understand this, is to relate your apprenticeship to learning how to drive a car. The you learn to drive a car, you spend the majority of your time with your driving instructor (In this case, Velocity Academy is the Driving Instructor). Then you come to your final assessment and this is completed by an external driving assessor (In this case, BCS would be the End-Point Assessor).
On Programme Assessment
Technical knowledge and understanding is assessed on programme through a combination of Ofqual-regulated Knowledge Modules and specified vendor and professional qualifications. These must be passed before the end point assessment can take place. The exams for your on-programme assessments are:
End Point Assessment
The final, end point assessment is completed in the last few months of the apprenticeship. It is based on:
A portfolio – produced towards the end of the apprenticeship, containing evidence from real work projects which have been completed during the apprenticeship, usually towards the end, and which, taken together, cover the totality of the standard, and which is assessed as part of the end point assessment.
A project - giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business-related project over a one-week period away from the day to day workplace
An employer reference - This is a reference document that you line manager will complete on behalf of you to give the End Point Assessor a clear picture of your day-to-day capabilities as a Digital Marketer.
A structured interview with an assessor - exploring what has been produced in the portfolio and the project as well as looking at how it has been produced.
This document is going to be used to collect evidence for your apprenticeship portfolio. As highlighted above, your apprenticeship portfolio will be a collection of evidence from real world work projects. These projects have to be completed during your apprenticeship and have to cover all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to meet the Level 3 Digital Marketer standard. Don’t worry, Velocity Academy has mapped in all of the required criteria to the template work set. So all you have to do is ensure that you evidence the work to a good, quality standard and then you should have everything covered.
